About the Role

The Carpenter (Fire Door/Fire Stopping Specialist) role provides statutory, planned and reactive maintenance of passive fire protection systems across the University campus to agreed KPIs within the Estates Service Statement. Based within the Building Fabric Fire Team, the postholder delivers reactive and planned maintenance carpentry, carrying out skilled planned preventative maintenance and bespoke carpentry/joinery, primarily relating to the inspection, repair, remediation and replacement of fire doors and the installation and maintenance of fire stopping systems.

About You

You will undertake fire compartmentation works, contribute to statutory compliance, supports fire safety inspections and surveys, and may include the manufacture of bespoke joinery, remedial building fabric works and the ordering of materials required to maintain the University's estate.

About the Department

The Maintenance Team within the University of Warwick Estates Department delivers planned, reactive and statutory maintenance across the University estate. The team ensures buildings and infrastructure are safe, compliant and fit for purpose, supporting the University's teaching, research and residential activities. The Fire Team is responsible for maintaining passive fire protection measures, including the inspection, repair and replacement of fire doors, fire stopping systems and associated fire safety compliance across the campus.
