Main duties of the job
The post is for General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist working in in Hallam Street Hospital, West Bromwich The post holder will Lead General Adult mental health Team services by working closely with the service manager and a multi-disciplinary team comprising predominantly of nurses, speciality doctor, and psychologist.
The post holder will join the peer group of Consultants providing comprehensive mental health services as part of Community Mental Health Teams in each locality.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled clinician who will lead the MDT and who will take keen interest in teaching, training and service development.
The post holder will work full time to a 10 PA Job Plan.
Job description
This is a substantive Consultant appointment which attracts a Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) of £20,000, payable as a recruitment incentive for new starters, subject to Trust policy and specific terms and conditions.
The Recruitment and Retention Premium will be paid over a threeyear period as follows:
£10,000 on taking up post
£5,000 at the commencement of year 2
£5,000 at the commencement of year 3
This provides a total value of £20,000 over three years, subject to continued eligibility.
In addition, the post is eligible for relocation expenses of up to £8,000, in line with Trust relocation policy and subject to eligibility criteria.
Applicants wishing to claim relocation supportmustdeclare this at interview, as relocation support cannot be approved or applied retrospectively.
Recruitment and Retention Premia and relocation expenses arenonpensionable, subject to ongoing eligibility, and will be paid in accordance with Trust policies in place at the time of appointment. The Trust reserves the right to amend or withdraw recruitment incentives in line with NHS Employers guidance and local policy. Any repayment provisions applicable in the event of early termination of employment will be set out in the written terms and conditions issued on appointment.
