Job summary
Working as part of a wider General Practice team, the post holder will have responsibility for general treatment duties including leg ulcer management and administration of injectable medicenes for patients for . e.g for b12 defieciency, contraception or management of prostate cancer.
Other clinics for which extended training and supervision will be offered include; child and adult immunisations, participation in seasonal vaccinations clinics. Travel consultation clinics as well as offering cytology as part of the national cerical screening team.
The role will offer an opportunity to also develop skills in long term chronic disease mamagementof the general population. Post holders will see patients in clinics but at times will need to offer care to identified housebound patients within in their own homes.
Flexibilty to provide cross centre cover is also required, Trusts Genral Practiceoutlets are located across a number of locations around the Sandwell borough.
Main duties of the job
General treatment duties, via booked clinics to offer wound and ulcer managament, support long term disease education, administer injectable medications as required,
Child and adult immunisations as per national schedules.
Travel clinic consultations.
Well woman clinics.
Supervising other members of the team such as Health care assistants and Nurse Associates.
Participating in infection control audits and other assurance protocols.
