UHB is moving forward with renewed ambition, building on improvements in staff experience, patient experience, partnership working and its recent CQC journey. You will help us use our scale to strengthen services and work effectively with partners across Birmingham, Solihull and the wider system.
You will lead General Managers and senior teams, work closely with site leads at executive level and continue to strengthen relationships with partners across the private sector, primary care and Integrated Care Boards.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an exceptional operational leader who brings pace, grip, focus and constructive challenge to complex, high-profile services. You will drive delivery across multi-site services, strengthen performance management and maintain clear oversight of capacity, demand, risk and priorities.
You will support standardisation and improvement across sites, levelling up to the best so patients receive consistently high-quality care wherever they access services. Using data, benchmarking and operational insight, you will identify variation, unblock issues and turn plans into delivery.
Strong financial and business discipline will be essential. You will make best use of resources, understand productivity opportunities and manage services through a clear focus on efficiency within a constrained financial environment, balancing quality, access, workforce and finance while keeping patient experience at the centre.
Digital innovation and service transformation will support safer, more efficient and more consistent services, enabling teams to work across sites as one organisation.
Success will come from balancing operational oversight with compassionate, inclusive leadership. You will support, develop and hold General Managers and senior teams to account, building capability and creating the conditions for colleagues to deliver well for patients and each other.
