The Royal London Dental Hospital is part of Barts Health and is a leading specialist hospital for first-class dental and Oral Health care & provides clinical excellence in all aspects of dentistry.

Main duties of the job

o The post holder will provide leadership to the Dental Nurse team on a daily basis, inspiring them with strong leadership, excellent clinical skills and a visible and exemplary commitment to patient-centeredness.

o The post holder will work collaboratively with the Lead Dental Nurse and the Matron to escalate department and staffing issues where appropriate

o The post holder will carry out clinical dental nursing on a minimum of two days per week, ensuring credibility with the nursing team and role modelling excellent clinical nursing skills.

o The post holder will line manage the Senior Dental Nurses and an agreed number of Dental Nurses within the Postgraduate nursing team.

o As well as line management of Dental Nurses, the post holder will work with closely with the Senior Dental Nurses to delegate a number of key operational tasks to the SDNs in the day-to-day operational management of clinical services

o The post holder will represent their department at nurse management meetings and the clinical governance group, and will be expected to take responsibly for delivering agreed actions with nursing teams

o The post holder will deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse in their absence
