This is more than a traditional GP role. Main duties of the job

Job description
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Decision-Making
Act as a senior point of reference for complex clinical queries and risk-based decision-making.
Provide real-time advice, second opinions, and support to GPs and the wider MDT.
Maintain high standards of evidence-based, person-centred care.
People Management & Workforce Development
Support appraisal, performance management, and professional development.
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing clinical culture.
Governance, Quality & Safety
Contribute to and lead elements of clinical governance, incident review, and quality improvement.
Ensure safe management of results, prescriptions, and clinical workflows across the practice.
Operational & Service Leadership
Work closely with operational leads to manage demand, capacity, and service pressures
Lead or contribute to service redesign, pathway development, and innovation projects
Support day-to-day operational decision-making to ensure safe, effective service delivery.
Strategic Contribution
Contribute to practice strategy, workforce planning, and system-level working.
Build relationships with secondary care, community services, and wider stakeholders.
