GP Surgery Administrator (Data Entry Clerk & Patient Co-ordinator)NHS
Job summary
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated GP Surgery Administrator to join our busy and friendly practice team. This is an important administrative role focused on ensuring patient records are accurately maintained and that patients receive timely communication regarding test results and follow-up care.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clinicians and maintaining efficient patient care pathways through accurate data entry, patient contact, and appointment coordination.
Main duties of the job
- Processing and accurately entering clinical and administrative information into the patient record system.
- Managing internal clinical tasks assigned by GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contacting patients by telephone, text message, or letter following review of test results as directed by clinicians.
- Arranging follow-up appointments, investigations, and reviews in accordance with clinical instructions.
- Updating and maintaining patient records to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
- Monitoring and actioning workflow tasks within agreed timescales.
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and NHS information governance requirements.
- Supporting the wider administration team as required.
- Liaising professionally with clinicians, patients, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
