Make a Difference When It Matters Most An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Crisis Worker to join Ynys Saff Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). As a regional NHS service for South East Wales, we play a vital role in supporting individuals who have experienced sexual violence and abuse, helping them access the care and assistance they need.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in someone's journey towards safety, recovery, and empowerment. As a Crisis Worker, you will be one of the first professionals that clients encounter following a traumatic experience, offering immediate emotional support, practical guidance, advocacy, and reassurance during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will support adults, young people, and families who have experienced sexual violence and abuse. You will guide individuals through the forensic medical process and provide information, support, and advice to those who wish to self-refer to the SARC, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed choices. Main duties of the job
As a Crisis Worker, you will:
- Provide immediate emotional and practical support to individuals accessing the SARC.
- Ensure clients understand their options and can make informed decisions about their care and next steps.
- Coordinate referrals and provide access to specialist support services.
- Advocate for clients and help them navigate the process.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding processes.
- Participate in a rota that provides responsive support to people when they need it most 24 hours of the day 365 days of the year
- Have excellent communication skills with our partner agencies
- Be able to complete a full forensic clean of the area to standards which meet ISO 15189 Forensic Accreditation Standards

- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
