This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, working from 08:00am till 12:00pm
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Receptionist to join our busy GP Surgery team. The main duties include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients both in person and over the telephone
- Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using clinical systems
- Managing patient enquiries with professionalism, empathy, and strict confidentiality
- Processing repeat prescriptions, test results, and medical documentation
- Providing administrative support to clinicians and the wider practice team
- Supporting the practice in meeting QOF and BQC KPI requirements
- Referring patients to the appropriate services or specialties as needed
Job description
- Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answering telephone calls and managing appointment bookings
- Processing prescriptions, referrals, clinical letters, and samples
- Ensuring the reception area is tidy, organised, and welcoming
- Working as part of a team to support the smooth running of the practice
- Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care to all patients
- Managing the amalgamation and processing of new patient records
- Following all practice policies and procedures
- Completing administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and data entry
- Liaising with clinicians, patients, and external healthcare professionals
- Ensuring administrative work contributes to meeting QOF, BQC, and IIF KPIs
