Oakridge Park Medical Centre is seeking a compassionate and motivated GP to join our friendly and supportive team. We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and can work confidently and effectively in a busy primary care environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established and forward-thinking practice serving a growing patient population in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering excellent clinical care while contributing to the ongoing development of the practice and wider Primary Care Network.
This role is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027, with the potential for extension, subject to funding and service requirements. Immediate start date is preferred
Sessions: Part-time or full-time (4-8 sessions per week, depending on preference)

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to the practice population through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, prescribing safely and effectively, reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence and test results, maintaining accurate clinical records, and undertaking home visits where appropriate.
The role also involves supporting patients with long-term conditions, managing referrals, contributing to quality improvement and clinical governance activities, achieving QOF and Enhanced Service objectives, and working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team. In addition, the post holder will participate in continuing professional development.

Training Practice
As a training practice, we are committed to supporting the development of the future healthcare workforce. We regularly host GP Registrars, undertaking clinical placements.
We encourage continuous learning within the practice and actively support clinicians in developing specialist interests and expanding their skills through education and training.
Main Duties of the Role
- The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Clinical Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality, evidence-based medical care to the registered practice population.
- Undertaking face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
- Assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribing safely and effectively in accordance with NHS and local guidelines.
- Reviewing and actioning test results, hospital correspondence, and clinical documentation promptly.
- Undertaking home visits where clinically appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using SystmOne.
- Participating in care planning and health promotion activities for patients withlong-term conditions.
- Managing referrals and associated clinical administration in a timely manner.
- Quality and Governance
- Supporting the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and
- Enhanced Service targets.
- Participating in clinical audits, significant event reviews, and quality
- improvement initiatives.
- Promoting evidence-based practice throughout the organisation.
- Maintaining a strong awareness of safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant NHS and practice policies, including
- infection prevention, confidentiality, and information governance.
- Professional Development
- Maintaining GMC registration, appraisal, and revalidation requirements.
- Participating in continuing professional development (CPD) activities and
- mandatory training.
- Contributing positively to the development of the wider practice team.
