Job summary

Cromwell Road Resource Centre promotes, supports and improves the mental, physical and emotional well-being of individuals with Learning Disabilities, in order that they can participate in their communities and with their families, and enjoy the best life possible.

The aim of the service is to support individuals to remain living in their own homes. An effective Service should aim to ensure that this group can participate in and help steer the services required, taking into account their specific needs. The service should also enable service users to make informed decisions and to facilitate access to services across the health, social and voluntary sectors.

Main duties of the job

Support Worker

Day Services Cromwell Road Resource Centre

Full or Part time hours considered, permanent

Working hours 8-8:30am start with a 4-4:30 pm finish

Salary Range 2 £25,275 pro rata per annum fixed salary point

The postholder will:

  • Promote independence, dignity, choice, inclusion and wellbeing while supporting meaningful activity, community participation and the development or maintenance of daily living skills.
  • Provide safe, person-centred and outcome-focused support to adults with learning disabilities attending the day service.
  • Support service users to participate in group activities that promote social interaction, skills development, inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Work as part of the team, under appropriate direction, and follow individual support plans, care plans, risk assessments and agreed service procedures.
  • Support service users to meet their physical, emotional, psychological and social needs in a respectful, dignified and person-centred manner, in accordance with individual support plans, care plans and risk assessments.
  • Provide personal care and practical support where required, including hygiene, toileting, eating and drinking support, mobility and continence care, while maintaining dignity, privacy and choice.
  • Support meaningful individual and group activities, vocational, educational, recreational and community opportunities that promote independence, inclusion, skills development and participation.
