Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated SACT Nurse / Clinical Trials Nurse to join our Cancer Services team at St Bartholomew's Hospital. This exciting role combines the delivery of high-quality Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) with the coordination and management of innovative clinical trials for patients with cancer and haematological conditions. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical care, support patients throughout their treatment journey, and contribute to the development of future cancer therapies through research participation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced oncology nurse who is passionate about patient-centred care, research excellence, and continuous service improvement.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will split there time between the cancer day unit and the clinical trials team. You will deliver safe, effective and compassionate care to patients receiving SACT, undertaking patient assessment, treatment administration, toxicity management and ongoing support throughout the treatment pathway. You will coordinate and manage a portfolio of clinical trials, including patient screening, recruitment, informed consent processes, protocol delivery and study follow-up activities. Working closely with oncologists, haematologists, research teams and pharmacy colleagues, you will ensure compliance with research governance and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. You will act as a key worker for patients and families, contribute to education and mentorship of staff, participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives, and support the ongoing development of cancer and research services within the Trust
