Job summary

We have a excellent opportunity for a Band 2 health care support worker to join our team in Cottage View residential home in Knighton

As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will support the delivery of nursing care to patients in a clinical and/or home environment, as part of a team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The post-holder would be responsible for leading a team of Band 2 staff OR would undertake work to provide a service where they regularly work without the supervision of a registered nurse for the duration of the shift or the majority of the shift.

Main duties of the job

Participate in the emotional and physical needs of the residents seeking to provide as far as possible, a happy and stimulating and stable environment.

Actively communicate with residents who are frail and have dementia and to participate in any activities to entertain and stimulate residents.

Assist in the formulation of care plans for new residents and the review of care plans for established residents.

To care for residents by: Washing and bathing and assisting with dressing and undressing. Assisting with toileting requirements, especially those who are physically,mentally frail or confused. Assisting residents with their mobility using mobility aids provided for their use. Monitor the preparation and serving of food to ensure standards are met in respect of nutrition, environmental health, special diets etc

We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don't speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don't worry: the health board will support you with training.
