Job summary

Ramsey Unit is an Older Adults Dementia Assessment Service providing specialist inpatient assessment, treatment and support for people living with dementia and other complex mental health needs.

We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and motivated Activity and Recovery Support Worker to join our team. Working alongside Occupational Therapists, nursing staff and the wider MDT, the successful applicant will support patients through the planning and delivery of meaningful therapeutic activities that promote wellbeing, independence and recovery.

Main duties of the job

What You'll Be Doing

o Planning and facilitating therapeutic and recreational activitieso Supporting patients to identify personal goals and interestso Encouraging participation in groups, exercise and wellbeing activitieso Building positive therapeutic relationships with patients and carerso Working closely with Occupational Therapists and ward teamso Supporting patients to maintain links with their community and recovery networks

This role involves planning and leading therapeutic activities and groups for older adults experiencing dementia and mental health difficulties. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of facilitating activities, groups, recreational programmes or wellbeing interventions and will be asked to provide examples as part of the recruitment process.

This is a therapy-focused role supporting meaningful engagement and recovery and should not be considered a traditional Healthcare Support Worker position.
