Job summary

We are in search of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Community Occupational Therapy team.

As a Band 6 Children's Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for providing a specialist and comprehensive Occupational Therapy service for children 0-18 years and their families, who have a Herefordshire GP, with a focus upon Occupational Performance pathways.

Planning and management of your own caseload and interventions, providing specialist assessment and treatment and referring children to other specialist services as needed.

These interventions will take place in the most relevant environment for the child and their family - the home environment, therapy suite or schools.

We encourage applications from experienced Occupational Therapists from a range of clinical backgrounds. Transferable skills and experience gained in other areas of occupational therapy are highly valued.

Will consider developmental band 5 to band 6 position as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

Whilst working as an autonomous practitioner in the community, within the county of Herefordshire, plan and organise own caseload according to the needs of the children and the service.

To use evidence based standardised and non-standardised assessment tools with children, including observations in the most appropriate settings for the child/young person, in order to establish levels of functional ability and disability and to inform your practice and intervention.

To agree child focused aims, goals and objectives for all OT intervention.

To design individual therapeutic treatment plans, for children to be carried out either by you or delegated to Occupational Therapy support workers, families, carers or school staff.
