Main duties of the job

As a Prison In-Reach Recovery Worker, you will play a key role in supporting people affected by substance use within a custodial setting, working predominantly across HMP Forest Bank and HMP Styal. You will build positive, therapeutic relationships with people in prison, providing assessment, recovery planning, harm reduction, structured interventions and ongoing care coordination to support individuals to reduce substance-related harm and progress towards recovery and successful resettlement. Working as part of a multidisciplinary prison team, you will liaise closely with prison staff, healthcare professionals, community services and other partner agencies to ensure continuity of care throughout a person's time in custody and on release. This is a rewarding role where your expertise, compassion and ability to engage people can make a meaningful difference to health, wellbeing, recovery and reducing reoffending. This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per year.
