SENIOR FULL TIME TEACHER plus TLR 2 (£3,500) with Responsibility for leading a key area of school improvement.

Hayfield School is seeking to appoint an experienced Class Teacher for the permanent position for Senior Full Time Teacher with TLR for January 2027.  The successful candidate will be able to work across all ages of a primary special school and will be responsible for leading on a key area of school improvement.

About our school:

Hayfield is a special primary school for children with a wide range of special educational needs.  Every child at our school has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). In September 2026, we will have 176 children on roll and we anticipate that this number will increase further throughout the school year.  In recent years, the profile of our pupils has changed considerably and we are supporting significantly more children with Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Autism.

We are a welcoming and supportive school for children, their parents and our staff.  Parents speak positively about the impact we make on their children's lives. Parents and carers say:

We're Looking For a senior teacher who:

Has experience of working successfully with children with severe / complex learning difficulties.

Has a strong understanding of early childhood development and how young children with severe / complex learning difficulties learn.

Has experience of leading on an area of whole school improvement that has benefitted children with severe or complex learning difficulties

Has experience of leading a small team of teachers and support staff

Loves working in a fast paced learning environment that places children at the heart of everything we do

Is passionate about ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs receive the highest levels of education and support that we can give.

Will create a nurturing, structured, predictable and fun learning environment for our children with some of the most complex needs.
