About The Role -

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

Tower Hamlets is seeking a motivated and analytical Commissioning Officer to support the delivery of our ambitious SEND Reform Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the commissioning, monitoring and improvement of services that help children and young people receive the right support at the right time, while strengthening inclusion and improving outcomes across education, health and social care.

Working within our integrated commissioning team, you will support contract management, performance monitoring, data analysis and service improvement activity. You will work closely with providers, schools, health partners, families and young people to ensure services are delivering high-quality support, achieving agreed outcomes and providing value for money.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong analytical, organisational and relationship-building skills, experience of performance monitoring or contract management, and a commitment to improving services for children and families. You will be confident working with data, engaging stakeholders and contributing to system-wide improvement initiatives.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your commissioning career while playing a key role in shaping innovative SEND services and supporting the delivery of one of the most significant transformation programmes in Tower Hamlets.

Key Requirements

Experience in commissioning, contract management, or service improvement.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and performance information to drive outcomes.

Experience managing provider performance and building effective stakeholder relationships.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and present complex information.

Good understanding of quality assurance, performance management, and compliance.

Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities effectively.

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
