Main duties of the job

Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, working within your level of competence Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines Undertake routine delegated activities accurately and in line with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures Prepare yourself, equipment, materials, and medicines appropriately for specific tasks Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions, ensuring all items are checked by a pharmacist Prepare small batches of prepacked and/or overlabelled medicines as required, ensuring pharmacist verification Accurately record data and information relating to activities and ensure this is passed to the appropriate team member or filed correctly Identify and report any significant changes within the pharmacy department or service that may impact patient health and wellbeing

Pharmacy Technician FTC | Pharmacy | Farnham | Private Hospital | 12 Month Contract | Monday-Friday | 37.5 hours

Contract Spire Clare Park Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Department on a 12 month fixed-term contract Spire Clare Park Hospital is a modern elective hospital located in Farnham and is rated "Good" by the CQC. The hospital provides a broad range of surgical and diagnostic services, including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Dermatology and ENT, supported by stateoftheart imaging facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, working within your level of competence
• Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines
• Undertake routine delegated activities accurately and in line with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures
• Prepare yourself, equipment, materials, and medicines appropriately for specific tasks
• Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions, ensuring all items are checked by a pharmacist
• Prepare small batches of prepacked and/or overlabelled medicines as required, ensuring pharmacist verification
• Accurately record data and information relating to activities and ensure this is passed to the appropriate team member or filed correctly
• Identify and report any significant changes within the pharmacy department or service that may impact patient health and wellbeing

Who are we looking for?

• Previous experience within a pharmacy department (hospital or community)
• NVQ Level 3
• Strong teamworking skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly numerate and literate
• Administrative experience involving checking and monitoring processes
• Ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations in a professional and supportive manner

Working Hours - Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. No weekends
