Service Charge and Right to Buy OfficerCouncil

Harlow Council is looking to recruit a Service Charge and Right to Buy Officer to join our Home Ownership Team.

Whilst needing to be a team player the role focuses on the processing of Right to Buy applications in line with statutory requirements and management of service charge accounts for the council’s leasehold stock. The role also includes providing presale packs in respect of sales of leasehold properties, dealing with enquiries from both tenants and leaseholders on various matters and to maintain accounts and records following any changes in ownership.

You will be required to work in accordance with the Council’s agreed policies and working practices, delivering a first-class housing service that is both value for money and customer focused. 

You will need to:

  • Have a good knowledge of the legislation and the legal processes for Service Charges and Right to Buy
  • Be able to interpret and implement new legislation and contribute to making improvements to the service.
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Build on a successful relationship already established with customers.

Applicants need to have a keen interest in working within local government and communicating with the public, having excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good I.T skills are also required. Please read the Employee Profile to see if you would be suitable to apply for this position.
