Newport City Council is seeking a motivated and dynamic Employment Liaison Officer to join its Work & Skills team. This exciting role provides an opportunity to work directly with local businesses, employers and partner organisations to create sustainable employment opportunities for residents facing barriers to work.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers across Newport.
• Identify employment, apprenticeship, traineeship, placement and volunteering opportunities.
• Promote employability programmes and engage with key stakeholders.
• Work closely with Jobcentre Plus, Careers Wales and training providers.
• Monitor and report programme performance and outcomes.


Essential Requirements

• Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or substantial relevant experience.
• Experience of engaging with employers and coordinating employment opportunities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
