Job summary

Join our developing safeguarding service at an exciting time of change. This new role will provide specialist safeguarding support across North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust while helping to shape the future health contribution to the Warrington Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Working within the NCM Safeguarding Team, the post holder will provide expert advice, support and leadership on adult safeguarding matters, with the role evolving as the Warrington MASH model develops and becomes embedded. This role will be based in the local authority as the MASH develops

Main duties of the job

The Safeguarding Specialist is responsible for providing expert safeguarding advice, support and leadership across North Cheshire and Mersey (NCM). The role involves supporting staff to identify, manage and escalate safeguarding concerns, ensuring safe and lawful practice in line with the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Health Act. A key aspect of the role will be supporting the development of the health safeguarding function within the Warrington Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), strengthening information sharing, partnership working and multi-agency decision-making. Key duties include delivering and developing safeguarding training, contributing to audits, incident reviews and serious adult reviews, supporting policy development, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to promote high-quality, patient-centred safeguarding practice and improved outcomes for adults at risk
