We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant, to join our team at HMP Moorland a Category C mens prison and Young Offenders Institution near Hatfield Woodhouse in South Yorkshire.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with patients in a primary care setting offering complex care, social care and palliative care. Hours

This is a full time role working Monday to Sunday, on a rota basis of 7.30am to 7.30pm or 7.30pm to 7.30am. Please note that you will be required to cover night shifts

Salary This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of £25,557 - £29,723 depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
