About the Role
The Faculty Employer‑Led Education and Experiential Learning Manager provides senior professional leadership for employability, experiential learning and degree apprenticeship activity across the Faculty, ensuring these are effectively embedded within curricula and aligned with University strategy.
The role is responsible for the strategic direction, governance and oversight of employer‑led education, ensuring that high‑quality, consistent and compliant practices are delivered across Schools through appropriate operational structures and support.
Working in partnership with academic leaders, School teams and central services—including Careers & Employability—the postholder enables the integration of work‑based learning and professional experience within programmes, supports Graduate Outcomes improvement, and ensures that Faculty provision is informed by labour market insight.
Degree Apprenticeships represent a major area of focus within the role, requiring sustained oversight of compliance, delivery and risk, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and responsibility for assurance of ESFA, Ofsted and institutional requirements while acting as the Faculty’s principal liaison for employer‑led education and experiential learning activity at institutional level
About You
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience, with significant expertise in employability, experiential learning, employer-led education, or student success within Higher Education.
You will bring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical skills, alongside experience of governance, compliance, quality assurance, and staff management. Able to work strategically and operationally, you will use data and insight to drive improvement, influence decision-making, and deliver effective outcomes in a complex environment.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) is recognised for its research excellence, innovation, and commitment to diversity in education. Public engagement, partnerships, and cross-disciplinary collaboration are central to the Faculty’s success and global reputation.
Several subjects, including Law, History, Drama, and English, are consistently ranked among the world's leading disciplines, while Geography, Linguistics, and Drama have previously achieved top rankings in research excellence exercises. The Faculty is also home to renowned centres and institutes, including the Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Mile End Institute. Across its schools, HSS supports over 12,000 students and around 500 academic staff across two main campuses.
