We are seeking an ambitious and critically engaged artist and academic to join Fine Art within the School of Design and Creative Arts at Loughborough University.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a thriving Fine Art community and to contribute to the next stage of its development. Fine Art at Loughborough places studio practice, making, experimentation and critical enquiry at the heart of the student experience, encouraging ambitious and individual approaches to contemporary practice.

You will join a collaborative team and contribute to the creative and intellectual life of Fine Art, helping to shape our studio culture, research activity and future direction. We welcome applicants working across all areas of contemporary Fine Art and value approaches that encourage experimentation, interdisciplinary thinking and new ways of making and understanding art.

The role also offers opportunities to develop collaborations across the School and University and to build relationships with galleries, cultural organisations and wider communities.

We are looking for someone to contribute to an ambitious Fine Art programme while developing their own practice, research and academic career at Loughborough.

Key Requirements:

Experience of working in an internationally recognised academic research environment, including significant experience at postdoctoral level

An active and developing Fine Art practice, evidenced through exhibitions, commissions, residencies, publications or equivalent professional activity

Demonstrate ability to develop an original Fine Art research / practice and to persuade others of its importance

Demonstrate high-quality teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including curriculum development

Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Have a PhD in a relevant subject
