Clinical Research FellowUniversity

London Full time £54,499 - £76,582 a year
Posted 28 August 2026 Closing date 13 September 2026

About the Role

This Clinical Research Fellow role involves supporting hepatology and metabolic disease research, with a focus on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and chronic hepatitis B (HBV). Key duties include recruiting and assessing patients for research studies and clinical trials, collecting and analysing clinical data, maintaining accurate research records, and contributing to the development of research projects. The role also involves supporting research clinics, presenting findings, conducting literature reviews, preparing scientific reports and manuscripts for publication, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary research teams. In addition, the post holder will help deliver liver disease clinical trials, contribute to improving patient identification and recruitment for studies, and support the wider academic and clinical research objectives of the Centre.

About You

You will be a clinically qualified medical graduate (MBBS or equivalent) with MRCP (or equivalent) and training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. You will have a strong interest in liver disease, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret medical literature and apply evidence to research projects and clinical practice.

You will be an effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting scientific findings and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Experience contributing to publications and conference presentations is desirable, as is a commitment to supporting and training students and colleagues.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, alongside an enthusiasm for hepatology research and clinical trials. A motivation to develop an independent research career and contribute to improving outcomes for patients with liver disease is essential.
