About the Role

We are advertising a Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the lab of Dr Emma Chambers, in the Centre for Immunobiology and Infection at the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. To evaluate the impact of menopause on mononuclear phagocyte biology. This BBSRC funded project will utilise novel in vitro models, in collaboration with Professor John Connelly, to dissect the impact of menopause on mononuclear phagocyte biology. This project will also dissect the metabolic consequences of menopause on monocyte biology, in collaboration with Professor Sian Henson.

About You

The candidate is expected to have (or be close to finishing) a PhD in Immunology. They should have knowledge and experience of working with and isolating human monocytes. Experience in metabolism assay, large spectral flow cytometry panels as well as experience of working collaboratively, as part of a team. Experience of working to deadlines, analysing and processing data and evidence of preparing data for publication.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003, one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
