Postdoctoral Research Associate in Public Health NutritionUniversity

Tenure: Fixed term from 1 January 2027 until 30 September 2028
We are recruiting a lead post-doctoral researcher with a background in nutrition or public health nutrition for an MRC funded project on dietary energy density reformulation, appetite and body weight. The researcher will join the Department of Psychology and be based in the Appetite & Obesity research group. The project is led by Professor Eric Robinson, University of Liverpool. Project partners include University of Bristol and Oxford.
The post will involve designing and leading an experimental trial investigating the impact that reformulation of meal energy density has on total energy intake and body weight when studied under real-world free-living conditions.

The anticipated start date available for this post is January 2027. Due to the nature of the research trial (campus-based) and the post requires day-to-day running of the trial, remote working is not possible for this post.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Leading on study design, protocol and diet development.
Study ethical approval application.
Leading on participant recruitment, data collection and analysis.
Supervising a graduate level research assistant to support data collection.
Supporting dissemination of the research, including research publications and conference presentations.
To contribute to project reports and presentations to stakeholders where appropriate.
To identify and engage in personal development opportunities to support your career development.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
