Are you a Children's Nurse and Independent Non-Medical Prescriber with a passion for neurodevelopmental care?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Neurodevelopmental & Neurodisability Clinical Nurse Specialist/Practitioner to join our Community Paediatric team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work autonomously within a specialist multidisciplinary service, providing assessment, treatment, medication management and ongoing support for children and young people with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental conditions and complex neurodisability. The successful candidate will manage a specialist caseload, undertake nurse-led clinics, contribute to neurodevelopmental assessment pathways and provide expert advice and support to children, young people, families and professionals.

Main duties of the job

Manage a specialist caseload of children and young people with ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions. Independently prescribe and monitor ADHD medication in line with NICE guidance and local protocols. Deliver nurse-led clinics and support consultant-led clinics. Undertake clinical assessment, treatment planning and ongoing review.Provide behavioural management advice, sleep support and family education. Support neurodevelopmental assessment pathways and multidisciplinary triage processes.Act as a specialist resource for learning disability and neurodisability services across acute and community settings. Support the development of transition pathways for young people moving to adult services. Provide specialist advice, training and education to colleagues, families and partner organisations.Contribute to quality improvement, audit, research and service development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programs for allergy patients using established guidelines and protocols, in collaboration with our allergy consultant and multiprofessional team.
  • Evidence-Based Management: Apply research critically to manage allergies in child health, ensuring the best support and management for children and their families.
  • Education & Training: Contribute to the specialist education and training of healthcare professionals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in clinical supervision, self-reflection, audits, and quality initiatives to enhance care for children and their families.
