Type: Permanent – Full Time

Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and community-focused Leisure and Culture Development Officer to help develop and deliver inclusive leisure, cultural and community programmes that improve wellbeing, increase participation and strengthen community connections across the borough. Working with internal teams, community organisations, schools, arts groups, providers and a wide range of external partners, you will support the creation of opportunities that meet local needs, engage diverse audiences and contribute to thriving and vibrant communities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by helping residents access activities that enrich lives, promote health and encourage social inclusion.

As Leisure and Culture Development Officer, you will support the Community and Partnerships Manager in developing collaborative delivery models, fostering strong partnerships and advancing place-based approaches to service delivery. You will help coordinate projects, programmes and initiatives that contribute to the Council’s priorities around health, inclusion, participation and economic growth, while identifying opportunities to expand engagement and improve outcomes for residents. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a passion for community development and a proactive approach to building relationships and delivering meaningful initiatives that create lasting benefits for local people.
