Posted 13 September 2026

Are you passionate about building safety, compliance, and making a difference to people's homes and communities?

We are looking for a proactive and organised Building Safety, Compliance and Assurance Co-ordinator to join our Assets and Compliance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of our building safety and compliance programmes, helping to ensure that our homes and buildings remain safe, compliant, and well managed for our residents and staff.

You will support the management and monitoring of statutory compliance areas, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and other building safety responsibilities. You'll help coordinate programmes of work, maintain compliance records, produce performance reports, and support the delivery of key safety initiatives across the housing portfolio.

The role offers a varied workload, development opportunities and the chance to contribute to projects that directly impact resident safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Support the delivery and monitoring of building safety and compliance programmes.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and databases.
  • Produce management information, reports, and performance data.
  • Monitor compliance actions and ensuring they are progressed to completion.
  • Assist with health and safety training coordination and record keeping.
  • Support the preparation of reports for senior managers, elected members, and external bodies.
  • Manage enquiries, correspondence, and service requests.
  • Promote health and safety awareness across the organisation.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Building Safety, Compliance and Assurance Team.

We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical, and committed to high standards of customer service and safety and has:

  • Experience working in an administrative or co-ordination role.
  • Experience providing advice or support on health and safety matters.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent record-keeping and organisational skills.
  • A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Health and Safety or a willingness to work towards achieving one.

As an employer, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council offers a wide range of benefits, including flexible working, Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday allowance and childcare vouchers.

This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.

Please note that all applications must be received on an online application form. We do not accept CV's and do not keep CV's on file unless part of an application.
