Job summary

We're seeking an exceptional Director of Estates & Facilities to lead the development and delivery of an ambitious estates, infrastructure and capital agenda that will support healthcare transformation for years to come.

Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our estate is more than a collection of buildings. It will be a strategic enabler of better patient care, workforce wellbeing, innovation and organisational performance.

This is a rare opportunity to leave a lasting legacy, shaping the places and spaces that will support our patients, communities and workforce for generations to come.

If you're ready to lead transformational change, inspire talented teams and deliver an estate fit for the future of healthcare, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As a key system leader, you will work collaboratively with partners across health, care and the wider public sector to maximise the value and utilisation of our collective public estate, supporting better outcomes for the communities we serve.

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with a proven track record of delivering large-scale capital programmes, leading complex services and building strong partnerships.

You will be able to translate organisational ambition into practical, long-term investment that creates modern, sustainable environments where healthcare can thrive.

With responsibility for a substantial capital investment programme, you'll lead the delivery of our Estates Strategy, major redevelopment projects, sustainability ambitions and facilities services across a complex and evolving organisation.

You'll also provide inspiring leadership to our estates and facilities workforce, developing talent, building capability and creating a high-performing culture equipped to meet the challenges of a modern NHS.
