ABOUT THE ROLE As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you'll look after the different needs of our residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. Main duties of the job
As a Residential Senior Carer at Barchester care home, you will oversee the diverse requirements of our residents to ensure high-quality, person-centred care and support. Leadership of a care staff team will be your responsibility, which includes conducting training, supervisions, and delegating tasks during shifts. Additionally, support in administering and ordering medication, updating resident care plans and conducting risk assessments, and coordinating with GPs, district nursing teams, and family members is expected. Respect for residents' dignity and preferences are essential, contributing to creating a warm, welcoming, and lively environment. Suitable candidates will hold an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care. Experience in a residential care environment, along with demonstrated team leadership skills and a capacity for making decisions in support of resident wellbeing, is crucial. This role offers opportunities for career development through ongoing training, enabling career progression to Care Practitioners or nursing pathways.

ABOUT YOU

You will have previous experience in a residential care setting along with proven team leadership skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions to support the needs and wellbeing of our Residents. You'll have the opportunity to develop your career through ongoing training opportunities, so there's no limit to how far you can go with us. Many of our Senior Carer Assistants progress into Care Practitioners, Care Community Leads or on to nursing pathways.
