Job summary

Come and join one of the UKs largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with specialist neurological rehabilitation experience looking for the opportunity to play a key role in shaping and developing a brand-new specialist rehabilitation service?

Active Neuro Manchester is an exciting new specialist rehabilitation service preparing to open, providing rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions, spinal injuries and polytrauma. We are looking for a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join us at this formative stage and play a pivotal role in establishing the occupational therapy service, supporting the development of the wider clinical team and helping to embed a culture of high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation from the outset.

Main duties of the job

This is a unique opportunity to help build a clinical service rather than inherit one. Working closely with our wider clinical and operational leadership teams, you will help shape the occupational therapy provision at Active Neuro Manchester, contributing to service development, clinical pathways, quality improvement and the delivery of excellent outcomes for our clients.

As Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, you will provide clinical and professional leadership to the occupational therapy service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based and person-centred neurological rehabilitation. You will maintain your own clinical caseload while providing specialist assessment, advice and treatment, and will play an important role in ensuring consistency and quality across assessment, rehabilitation planning, goal setting, outcome measurement and clinical documentation.

You will also have responsibility for supporting and developing the occupational therapy team, providing clinical supervision, guidance, training and mentorship to junior therapists, Therapy Assistants and students as appropriate. Working as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to team meetings, client reviews and service development, helping to establish collaborative ways of working across the service.

Job description

As part of a new service, you will have the opportunity to influence how occupational therapy is delivered from the beginning. You will contribute to the development of clinical pathways, evidence-based practice and innovative approaches to rehabilitation, including the use of rehabilitation technology, while helping to establish the standards, processes and culture that will underpin the service as it grows.

We are looking for someone who combines strong clinical expertise with clinical leadership and a passion for service development. You will have significant experience within neurological rehabilitation, be confident working autonomously with complex clients and have experience supporting or supervising other clinicians. You will be committed to evidence-based practice, outcome measurement and continuous professional development, with the ability to share your knowledge and positively influence the wider team.

You will also be someone who thrives in a new and developing environment. The ability to work collaboratively, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the development of new ways of working will be important, as will your commitment to creating a high-quality experience for clients, their families and the wider multidisciplinary team.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to have a genuine impact: to help establish a new occupational therapy service, shape its clinical approach and culture, and contribute to the development of Active Neuro Manchester as a leading specialist rehabilitation provider in the region.

If you are an ambitious and experienced Occupational Therapist who is excited by the opportunity to help create, develop and lead something new, we would love to hear from you.
