This is an exciting time to join the Criminal Fines Compliance and Enforcement Service Management team as we have multiple strands of development work underway including supporting Decommissioning & Legacy Risk Mitigation Programme (DLRM) in its development of Opal which will replace the Libra Green on Black IT system currently used in Enforcement.
This area of work is a business priority for HMCTS and other government departments and there is a need for strategic leadership in this area and to work closely with the Home Office and other parts of HMCTS and MOJ. This role requires knowledge or experience of the work of Criminal Fines Collection and Enforcement with knowledge or experience of the payment processes used and/or confiscation order enforcement an advantage. The role can be based in any National Services office. There is a requirement for regular visits to Enforcement sites.
The Service Management team is a relatively small team supporting the Enforcement operational team by leading and developing the priorities facilitating delivery and ensuring the issues that can impact on the running of the service are managed effectively. The role will lead discussions on complex issues, with significant operational risks and influence internal and external stakeholders, reconciling differing priorities and representing the organisation on major issues.
Your role
As a Deputy Service Manager (DSM), you will progress the jurisdiction’s priorities facilitating their delivery and ensuring the issues that can impact on the running of services are managed effectively. Supporting the Service Manager, you will take forward ongoing continuous improvement of existing services and for reforming products and processes. You will act across significant operational, multi-disciplinary and complex policy areas. Influencing internal and external stakeholders to help reconcile differing priorities and representing the organisation’s position on major issues will feature in this role.
The role sits within a complex delivery and stakeholder environment, and you need to be equally comfortable dealing with operational staff, policy officials, central departments, and with press enquiries.

Your skills and experience
Deputy Service Manager will have;
Essential Skills:
Experience of successfully delivering high quality services; managing excellent service delivery, improvement, design and change implementation.
Experience of stakeholder engagement and management
Experience or knowledge of project delivery
Experience or knowledge in continuous improvement methodologies
Desirable Skills:
Experience or knowledge of the work of Criminal Fines Collection and Enforcement
Experience or knowledge of the collection and enforcement of confiscation orders and/or the processing of payments received by Criminal Fines Collection and Enforcement.
Location:
This role can be based in any National Services office. There is a requirement for regular visits to Enforcement sites and frequent travel.

Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week.
