Job Title: Teaching Assistant Grade 1 with SEN Support

Salary: £17,100 - 17,369 Plus SNA £1,062 per annum

Grade Scale: TA1 +SNA

Contract: Fixed Term 5 days per week 28.75 hours Term Time only plus 5 TED

Start Date: November 2026

Location: St. Andrew's C of E First School, Hewell Road, Barnt Green, B45 8NG

An exciting opportunity has become available to join St Andrew’s C of E First School as a member of the Teaching Assistant team on a fixed term basis to support a specific child on a 1:1 basis with Special Education Needs.

We are a very popular school, catering for pupils between 4 and 9 years of age. We encourage the children to care and support one another and aim to provide a family atmosphere where children can achieve their full potential.

Main Purpose:

We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm and a passion for helping others who will:

Be responsible (under the direct supervision and control of the classroom teacher) for the care, education and welfare of a pupil with Special Educational Needs.

Enable the child supported to gain the fullest possible access to the curriculum and to ensure adherence to the specific provision arrangements outlined by Education specialists.

Be enthusiastic, have effective communication skills, a good sense of humour and be able to work well under pressure;

Have patience and problem-solving skills, the ability to deal professionally with challenging situations;

Be committed to safeguarding all children

Be a team player with ability to take the initiative where appropriate and be fully immersed in the life of the school.

Motivate to inspire others in the pursuit of excellence;

Promote inclusion as the heart of school improvement.
