At the University of Bradford, our focus is on creating the conditions for social, cultural, and economic impact. We are committed to social inclusion. Our work to expand opportunity and enable students to reach their potential, has led to us topping the Social Mobility Index of English universities for the last five years. Safeguarding

The University of Bradford is committed to safeguarding, protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and Adults at Risk through robust safer recruitment practices.

Directorate

Theatre in the Mill is looking for an experienced, organised bookkeeper to help us monitor our finances and improve our internal records. All income and expenditure is processed through the University of Bradford’s central finance system. We need someone who can reconcile University finance reports with our programme and project budgets, track spending and commitments, and help us maintain a simple, reliable picture of our finances.

What you will be doing:

Review existing budgets, contracts, allocations and financial records to establish the current position.

Reconcile University financial ledgers and expenditure codes against TiM’s programme and project budgets.

Allocate transactions to the correct projects and budget headings; investigate discrepancies with University Finance.

Qualifications/ experience:

Experience of bookkeeping, financial administration or project finance; strong Excel skills; ability to interpret ledgers, codes and budgets; excellent attention to detail; ability to work independently and communicate financial information clearly.

Do not meet every single requirement? We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you are excited about this role but your experience does not align perfectly with everything in the job description or advert, we encourage you to arrange an informal conversation with the hiring manager. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
