This is administration with purpose, visibility and the opportunity to shape a new Council-wide way of working.

Redbridge is in the midst of an ambitious commercial and procurement transformation. We are moving beyond a traditional, transactional model to create a modern, strategic and influential function that shapes decisions earlier, connects commercial insight to organisational priorities and makes every pound work harder for residents.

Our strengthened Spend Control approach is a vital part of that transformation. It will give decision-makers better information, clearer assurance and greater confidence before public money is committed. We need an organised, confident and improvement-focused administrator to help make it work brilliantly.

You will sit at the heart of a new organisation-wide process, work with colleagues across the Council and see directly how accurate information and disciplined processes improve governance and value. You will also spot patterns and help make the approach simpler, stronger and more effective.

What you will do

Receive, check, log and track Spend Control requests through to decision.

Prepare panel agendas and papers, capture outcomes and issue clear notifications.

Maintain trusted approval records, audit trails and management information.

Give colleagues responsive, helpful first-line support with the Spend Control App.

Support compliance checks, dashboards, reporting and transaction matching.

Identify gaps and recurring issues, escalating risks and suggesting improvements.

What you will bring

You will be a highly organised and proactive administrator who enjoys making new processes work well. You will bring excellent attention to detail, strong record-keeping skills and confidence with digital systems and Microsoft Office. You will communicate clearly, manage competing priorities and combine a helpful customer approach with the confidence to uphold important controls.
