Job Introduction

About the Role

The Place & Growth directorate is seeking to recruit two highly organised and proactive Senior Executive Support Officers to support the Directorate’s Management Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of a high-profile Directorate responsible for delivering services that shape places, communities and economic growth across the borough, including Planning, Regeneration, Capital Delivery and Employment & Skills.

Working closely with the Director of Place & Growth and Directorate Management Team, you will provide professional executive support that enables senior leaders to operate effectively in a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment. The role requires excellent organisational skills, sound judgement, professionalism and the ability to manage a wide range of competing priorities.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Executive Support Officer, you will:

Provide comprehensive executive and administrative support to the Directorate Management Team.

Manage complex diaries, calendars and meeting schedules, ensuring senior officers' time is used effectively and priorities are appropriately managed.

Manage senior officer inboxes, prioritising correspondence, allocating actions and drafting responses where appropriate.

Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, collate reports and briefing papers, and monitor actions to ensure deadlines are met.

Act as a key point of contact for Members, senior officers, partners, government agencies, developers and other stakeholders.

Assist with the production of Directorate communications, including newsletters, staff briefings and intranet content.

Support a range of business administration activities, projects and initiatives across the Directorate.

About You

You will have substantial experience providing executive or senior administrative support, and be confident working with senior managers and stakeholders, managing complex electronic diaries and inboxes on behalf of senior leaders. You will have a good understanding of local government, governance processes and the role of elected Members and officers, and have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively under pressure.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the leadership team and contributing to the effective delivery of the Directorate's priorities. You will gain exposure to major projects and initiatives that contribute to the growth and development of the borough while working alongside a supportive and collaborative management team. If you are an experienced executive support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working at the heart of decision-making, we would love to hear from you.
