Job summary

Our teams provide individualised care and support for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities living in their community. We recognise that each person has unique interests, needs and preferences, and we support people to be as self-sufficient as possible, working closely with them and their support networks to help them reach their goals.

We are recruiting to replace valued colleagues and expand our teams to be able to support more people. We have vacancies in the following locations;

  • Winston Court (SL6 5HU) - 37 hours (days & sleep-ins)
  • Paddocks (SL6 3NG) - 30 hours (days & sleep-ins FTC)
  • Tithe Barn (SL6 2DE) - 22.5-37 hours (days)
  • Foxdown (SL6 3JN) - 20-37 hours (days)
  • Abell Gardens (SL6 6PS) - 22.5-37 hours (days)
  • Float Support (community based) - 37 hours

All FTC (fixed term contracts) are 12 months to cover maternity leave; alternative roles will be considered to either extend or offer permanent employment for suitable candidates.

These role will require candidates to have a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to support our people in their day-to-day lives and could include assistance with personal care, managing medication, meal preparation and shopping, and supporting with emotional and physical wellbeing.

We also provide support with life skills such as improving confidence, managing finances and being part of the local community to maintain important relationships.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Provide care and support to people in accordance to care plans
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the people we support
  • Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
  • Assist with meal preparation
  • Support people to get out and about - appointments, shopping and socialising
  • Recording keeping
  • Reporting changes in health and behaviour
  • Communicate with residents, families, colleagues and social care professionals

Full training will be provided for these roles - this will include a 7-day induction at our Head Office in Wokingham, online learning and shadowing established staff members.

To contribute to the overall running of the service, supporting the seniors and management to ensure CQC compliance.

To provide support that is safe, person centred and respects all human rights of the people living within the Independent Living Services.

This role involves supporting the people living within the Independent Living Services with all aspects of their daily routines to ensure that they are able to live the lives they want to.

You will collaborate with the people we support, families, carers and other professionals to provide a consistent and coordinated service which maximises outcomes for the people living at the Independent Living Services.

You will have a responsibility to document all work undertaken and contribute to residents reviews.
