Job Introduction

Insight and Influence Lead (PO4)

Children's Services | Royal Borough of Greenwich

Help shape services with children and young people, not just for them

At the Royal Borough of Greenwich, we believe children and young people should have a genuine voice in the decisions that affect their lives. We are looking for an ambitious, creative and experienced Insight and Influence Lead to champion participation, strengthen youth voice and ensure the experiences of children and young people influence policy, practice and strategic decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our participation and engagement work across Children's Services, helping us deliver our vision that children and young people are heard, listened to and able to influence change.

About the role

As Insight and Influence Lead, you will:

Lead the development and delivery of the Insight and Influence service.

Oversee and support key participation forums, including the Young People's Council, Children in Care Council and Care Leavers Forum.

Coordinate meaningful engagement with children and young people from diverse backgrounds and communities.

Develop innovative approaches to gathering insight, lived experience and feedback.

Ensure participation activity informs strategic planning, service improvement and decision-making.

Manage and support a team, including young advisors and participation staff.

Build effective relationships with service leaders, partners, elected members and community organisations.

Promote a culture where the voice of children and young people is valued and embedded across services.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Is passionate about children's rights, participation and co-production.

Has experience of engaging and empowering children and young people.

Can translate insight and lived experience into meaningful change.

Has excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.

Understands safeguarding and the needs of children and young people.

Can lead projects, manage competing priorities and deliver results.

Is creative, energetic and committed to improving outcomes for children and families.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to make a real difference at a time of significant transformation in Children's Services. You will work with passionate colleagues, senior leaders and young people themselves to ensure their voices shape the future of services across Greenwich.

If you are committed to participation and improving outcomes for children and young people, we would love to hear from you.

Help us ensure that children's voices are heard, valued and acted upon, creating better services and better outcomes for every child and young person in Greenwich.
