Are you a passionate and experienced Early Years practitioner with the vision, expertise and drive to lead a thriving EYFS provision at the heart of a close-knit community?

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and committed EYFS Leader to join our dedicated team from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced EYFS teacher or current leader to shape the future of our highly valued Early Years Unit and make a lasting difference to the lives of our youngest learners.

About Our School

Our small, community-focused school serves families with warmth, care and ambition. We are proud of the strong relationships we build with children and their families and the positive impact we make within our local community.

Our EYFS Unit provides education and care for 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds and Reception-aged children, offering:

Morning and afternoon nursery provision

30-hour funded childcare places

Wraparound care options for working families

The unit is a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. Despite many children joining us with significantly low starting points, they thrive through high-quality provision, strong relationships and a carefully designed curriculum.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with working in a community with:

High levels of deprivation

Significant SEND needs

High levels of Free School Meal eligibility

The Role

As EYFS Leader, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the EYFS Unit, ensuring consistently high-quality teaching, learning and care across the provision.

You will:

Lead and manage the EYFS Unit, driving continuous improvement and high standards.

Develop an ambitious and inspiring early years curriculum.

Monitor, evaluate and improve outcomes for all children.

Lead and support a dedicated team of practitioners.

Champion inclusion and ensure all children, particularly those with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds, flourish.

Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.

Work closely with senior leaders to contribute to whole-school improvement.

Undertake, or be willing to undertake, the role of EYFS Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Is an experienced and highly effective EYFS teacher.

Has successful leadership experience or demonstrates strong leadership potential.

Has an excellent understanding of child development and the EYFS Framework.

Has a proven track record of securing strong outcomes for children from diverse backgrounds.

Has experience of working with children with SEND and those facing disadvantage.

Is passionate about inclusion and ensuring every child succeeds.

Has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Is willing to undertake, or already holds, DSL responsibilities within the EYFS provision.

We Can Offer:

A welcoming and supportive school community.

Enthusiastic, happy and engaging children.

A well-established EYFS Unit with a strong reputation.

Dedicated and experienced support staff.

Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth.

A chance to make a genuine difference to children's lives and future opportunities.

A collaborative leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and success.

Visits to School

We strongly encourage prospective candidates to visit and experience our school and EYFS provision first-hand. School visits are warmly welcomed and actively encouraged. Please contact Mrs Louise Hunter in the main school office on 01977 798616 to arrange your visit.

Safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Closing date: Monday 9th November 2026 at 9am.
