You will work as part of the Early Years Team within the Education and Inclusion Service.

Your role will help the Council make sure there are enough high-quality, inclusive childcare places available for families who need funded early years education.

You will carry out checks with childcare providers to make sure they are using funding correctly and following government rules and guidance. You will build positive relationships with childcare providers, parents and other partners, gathering information to monitor quality and support improvement.

By working closely with providers and stakeholders, you will help maintain a strong and sustainable childcare sector and ensure children and families receive the best possible support and outcomes.

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Early Years Team. The team is responsible for making sure there are enough high-quality, inclusive childcare places across the borough to meet local families' demand for funded early years education.

About the role

This rewarding role will support high-quality early years provision across the borough. You will build positive working relationships with childcare providers, parents and a wide range of partners. The role will also give you the chance to influence service development, promote high standards, and help ensure local families can access high-quality childcare.

For more information about the role, please see the Responsibilities section of the attached Job Role Profile.

You will have experience of:

Carrying out audits, monitoring performance and checking compliance with requirements, while providing support and challenge where improvements are needed.

Responding to enquiries and complaints professionally and effectively.

Building positive working relationships and working in partnership with providers, families, colleagues and other professionals.

Analysing complex information, producing clear reports and making informed recommendations.

Understanding how organisations and markets operate, with good commercial awareness.

Applying government guidance and explaining requirements clearly to a range of stakeholders.
