LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university

As an equal opportunities employer strongly committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, we encourage applications from women and people from ethnic minority backgrounds as they are currently under-represented at this level in this area. All appointments will be made on merit or skill and experience relative to the role.

Salary is no less than £53,949 per annum and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website

Funding is available to support this position until 30 June 2027. It is anticipated that the role will be extended beyond this date.

LSE Cities is a dynamic research centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science, dedicated to studying how the world's cities are shaped and transformed. Working closely with Professor Alexander Evans, the post holder will work on the studio's core research programme, conducting qualitative and quantitative research independently and in collaboration with colleagues across LSE Cities and affiliated departments. They will develop and deliver long-term research on existing and evolving urban digital infrastructure, variation across policy domains, and the organisation and governance of these capabilities.

Candidates should have a PhD awarded or submitted relating to technology, innovation or urban leadership, ideally with a policy focus; advanced research skills, including on policy and academic projects; as well as an understanding of public sector leadership, administration, data, technology and policy delivery.

The other criteria that will be used when shortlisting for this post can be found on the person specification, which is attached to this vacancy on the LSE’s online recruitment system.
