Posted 6 October 2026 Closing date 27 October 2026

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to coordinate the successful delivery of the UKRI-funded CIRCARB programme within the University of Leicester’s School of Engineering. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and a multidisciplinary consortium of academic, industrial and external partners, you will monitor project plans, milestones, deliverables, budgets, resources and risks, while coordinating reporting and governance requirements. You will also organise consortium meetings, workshops and project events, preparing papers, presentations, minutes and action logs to maintain clear communication and timely progress.

You will act as a central point of contact for project coordination and support the programme’s dissemination, stakeholder engagement, impact and knowledge-exchange activities. This is an opportunity to contribute to an internationally recognised School with research spanning aerospace engineering, mechanics of materials, green energy and transportation, biomedical engineering, and digital manufacturing and management. The School’s research environment includes strong industrial links and a broad portfolio of multidisciplinary activity.

About you

You will have a Master’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent relevant professional qualification and experience. You will bring demonstrable experience of coordinating or managing complex research, innovation or externally funded projects, alongside a sound understanding of project-management principles. Your experience will include planning and monitoring milestones, deliverables, risks and deadlines; preparing reports and presentations; and coordinating meetings, workshops or other collaborative activities involving multiple stakeholders.

You will be an excellent communicator and organiser who can build productive relationships with academic colleagues, professional-services teams, industry partners and other external stakeholders. Able to work independently and collaboratively, you will manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and respond constructively to changing project requirements. Experience of UKRI-funded programmes, multidisciplinary consortia, budget monitoring, research impact or knowledge exchange would be advantageous, as would a recognised project-management qualification and proficiency with collaborative working tools.
