Job summary
Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust is investing in its Clinical Coding Department and is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Clinical Coder to join our well-established team. This flexible home-based role offers the opportunity to work as part of a supportive and knowledgeable team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality coded clinical data within a busy acute healthcare environment.
You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse and complex casemix, providing a stimulating environment in which to maintain and develop expert coding skills.
Experienced Clinical coders who are currently employed as a Band 4 and are working towards the NCCQ will progress to a Band 5 upon sucessfully passing the examination.

The post holder will demonstrate a high level of clinical coding knowledge and accuracy, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to their work. You will be able to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure and contribute positively as part of a team working to tight deadlines. A sound understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology is essential, alongside strong IT and communication skills. The role will involve liaison with clinicians to clarify clinical information and support accurate coding.
