Job summary
At Demelza, you will care for children with a range of complex conditions, getting to know them and their families. You will structure your care around their individual needs, with no two days being the same. Through a comprehensive training programme and continuous professional development, you will utilise your existing skills whilst gaining new ones around palliative care, symptom management and end of life care
Main duties of the job
To take the lead as the Nurse in Charge and participate in the on-call rota. Deputise in the absence of the Team Leader or Lead Nurse. To safeguard all children and young people accessing services; by responding to concerns raised in a timely and appropriate manner and effectively escalating, acting and referring these in accordance with policies and procedures.
Job description
To provide holistic nursing care and support to children and young people with life limiting/life threatening conditions and their families/carers, utilising the skills, knowledge and expertise of the qualified practitioner in a variety of situations, working on their own initiative and accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team. Working in collaboration with other services to best meet the needs of the child/young person and their family.
