The Estates team are looking to recruit an organised and efficient Waste Officer. The post will be based at Kings Court 2, Worcester but will have responsibility across both Herefordshire & Worcestershire. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work under pressure using own initiative. The role will also follow a development plan for the first two years. Main duties of the job
You'll play a key role in leading and developing the Trust's waste management programme, ensuring services are safe, compliant and aligned with NHS sustainability and Net Zero ambitions. Working closely with the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, you'll provide expert advice on waste legislation, oversee waste contracts, monitor budgets, analyse performance data and deliver initiatives that improve environmental performance, increase recycling and reduce costs.
You'll build strong relationships with clinical, operational and corporate teams, acting as the Trust's specialist for waste management, supporting procurement, delivering training, audits and compliance activities, and promoting best practice across the organisation.
