We are looking for a compassionate GP to join our team, dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
The Practice is committed to delivering high quality patient care which requires us to have a supportive and cohesive team.
We currently have 6 sessions available in our team.
The location will be The Meadows Surgery, Thrapston NN14 4GD.
We offer Terms and Conditions equivalent to the BMA model contract.

Main duties of the job
- Deliver safe, evidence based clinical care including acute, chronic, and preventative consultations.
- Work efficiently with the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient allocation and reduce unnecessary GP workload.
- Provide continuity of care and support complex cases, with particular benefit from mental health colleagues.
- Contribute to improved workflow by minimising unnecessary admin through effective delegation and process optimisation.
- Participate in clinical meetings, MDT discussions, and monthly protected learning time.
- Engage in personal development and appraisal processes, with opportunities for progression into leadership roles.
- Uphold the organisations values, fostering a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
Job description
This role is for an experienced General Practitioner who values safe practice, clear communication and working as part of a team that takes care of both patients and staff.
Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience working in a UK GP Practice.
About the role
This role is suited to a confident, experienced General Practitioner who is comfortable working autonomously, managing clinical risk and contributing to the smooth running of a busy general practice.
You will provide high-quality general medical services to the registered patient population and deliver safe, effective clinical care in line with professional and contractual standards.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Independently assess, diagnose and manage complex and routine presentations
- Manage acute illness and deterioration safely and decisively
- Provide ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions
- Deliver face to face, telephone and online consultations as required
- Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with local and national guidance
- Refer patients to other services using agreed pathways
- Review, interpret and act on investigation results
- Complete clinical administration accurately and in a timely way
- Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous clinical records

Our clinical team includes Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and First Contact Physiotherapists. This structure allows patients to be seen by the most appropriate clinician and supports safe, efficient care delivery.
