Job summary
Dewerstone Medical Group (Budshead Medical Practice & Oakside Surgery) are looking for two highly motivated, hard-working and experienced Medical Receptionist's to join our ever growing team!
The post is for 24 hours per week Monday-Friday, however flexibility to cover sickness/holiday is essential.
Occasional Saturday shifts are available every 5 weeks.
12 month fixed term, to be reviewed with a view to becoming permanent.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for receptionist's with the following qualities to assist our practice in providing excellent patient care and support the practice to achieve outstanding service.
- Caring and compassionate
- Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and welcoming telephone manner
- Excellent organisational skills in order to manage multiple tasks and process timelines
- Demonstrates flexibility
- Able to build strong relationships with the Practice team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn about all products and services offered
- Ability to use IT and operate a computer based systems, experience of using SystmOne preferred however full training will be provided for right candidate
- Previous NHS/GP experience is preferred
Job description
The successful applicants will work within the administration team, supporting the clinical staff and each other to deliver a high quality service to patients and other health care professionals. Though based primarily in one section, the post holder may be required to work in other sections of the department where support is needed, including across both sites. They will be required to follow established procedures and work under supervision but use their own initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their own work.
Key Responsibilities Reception:
Greeting patients and handling telephone/email enquiries in a professional & friendly manner
Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using our clinical system (SystmOne)
Processing prescriptions, referrals, and other administrative tasks
Handling patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks, including medical coding and summarising records
Previous experience in a GP surgery or healthcare environment (desirable but not essential)
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in IT systems and ability to quickly learn practice software - SystmOne, AccuRx
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
